Where do I begin?
Hello Friends! Welcome to the Abundant Light Blog! I am so excited to have you join me on this journey. Starting this blog has been a long time coming.
I'm a naturally curious person and there is really no stopping me once I have a question in my mind (much to the chagrin of my parents, friends, and teachers). My desire for knowledge has always been pretty unquenchable, but I've realized that I really need to be better about putting everything I've learned to good use, which brings us here, and the questions is...where do I begin?
I have been blessed to have just about every advantage in this world. Great and varied education. Grace given through salvation in Jesus Christ. Two beautiful children. A husband who works so hard so that I can stay home and do what I love (that would be homeschooling my kids, teaching my ESL students, and dabbling in just about every creative outlet under the sun!) The only problem is, I have lot to say, about a lot of things.
I could tell you more about who Christ is to me and how incredibly good He has been. How He has orchestrated my life in such a way that it's impossible not to see His hand in it all!
I could tell you about how much being a Mom and Wife blesses me every day. All the ways in which I grow as a person by both roles. How much it means to have people who I love so dearly depend on me for so much. It's stretching me and I love it. I've never learned more. I've also never had to pray for patience more often (come on, if you're a Momma, you know exactly what I mean).
I could tell you about homeschooling my children and how I was the first to do it out of all the wonderful women I am blessed to walk through this life with. I could tell you about them too, and one day I'll do just that, because knowing me is seeing firsthand the effect they've all had on my life. (You'd get to hear how several of them thought I was CRAZY ...and, well, they're not entirely wrong...)
Or maybe, you'd like to hear how I began teaching English to students in China. I love my job and my students so much! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't pray for, think about, and chat with my students. I love getting this chance to engage with an entirely foreign (no pun intended) culture.
Well, Friends, I think I've answered my own question. These are the topics that I'll begin with. So, if anything you've read here interests you then you're in luck. These are just some of the things that I will share with you! Each week, I'll tell you a little more about one of these areas. I'll post pictures and videos of my life as I live it. You can see the good, the bad, and the ugly, and all the praises in between!
